Being the founder of Tomar, we had to dedicate him a room. Fought alongside of Dom Afonso Henriques and founded the Castle of Tomar. Was the Grand Master of the Knights Templar , and died in 1195 , lying buried in the Church of “ Santa Maria do Olival” grove .
Among the numerous military achievements highlight the victory over the Almohad Caliphate, it intended to take the Castle of Tomar. An heroic struggle overcame the enemy at the entrance door of the castle. The battle was so intense that the blood reached the belly of horses.
